Laptop without disc drive
Spilak23
So I have a new laptop and want to play PCM on it but it doesn't have a disc drive. Problem is I have the CD version of the game. So my question: Can I just copy the whole Pro Cycling Manager 2012 from program files from my old laptop to my new laptop using a external hard drive?

you don't need the disc if you want the setup installer
just search on internet any torrent or download links named pro cycling manager 2012
versions like ali123 are unlocked from steam

Why would I do an illegal download when I have already bought the game?

Thanks!

Crommy's solution is not going to work. Those are just a part of the files - there's also the registry keys, folders in My Docs and AppData and probably more that I don't know about.

I don't really know what you can do, though.

If you wish to rip the files from your CD, you need to create what's called an virtual 'image' of that cd.

Basically you need 2 things: a program that can create an .iso file, and a program that can read .iso files.

For the first one, I use Folder2Iso: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7nKM...NLalE/edit

For the second one, I use Daemon Tools Lite: https://eu-uk1.disc-tools.com/request?...1-0333.exe

Folder2Iso lets you rip your files from your CD. Select the entire disk drive as the input folder and it should copy the files and put it into an .iso file on your hard drive. You can see an .iso file as a virtual image of a cd or dvd.

Daemon Tools lets you then read these virtual image files. When installing it, it creates a virtual cd drive on your pc. You can then use the program to add and select, and then mount the .iso file. The computer then thinks its a cd, but instead it's all coming virtually from your hard drive. You should then be able to install normally.

Perhaps you are able to share your disc drive on your other laptop and install it through your network.

Okay, will try to find an external optical drive then. Or try Shorts' idea.

Never tried this method, but this is what method I use.

1. Insert cd on another comp.
2. Open cd and copy the files onto a folder.
3. Use exterenal hard-drive to get the folder to your new comp.
4. Double tap .exe file and install as normal Smile

Should work, atleast it did on older PCM's

Wow, I'm surprised to see nobody has ever worked with .iso files before. Don't you people download stuff from newsgroups or torrent sites at all? Pfft

What's a ultra book then? Of course it's a laptop.

The problem is that some DVD have a new protection system and you have to be really good to rip these DVD or use some different programs.

Just download the game from a torrent and use your key on the activation.
