You can plan your season.
To be more exact:
You can assign all the races to the riders(for the whole season) and therefore make the planning for the whole season. A nice race day counter counts how many race days the rider will make, and you can also do some other extra things, like deviding the riders in groups etc.
Also, you can make custom schedules for the riders, with the races the rider will ride(according to the schedule) placed under it, so you can make your training schedules much more easier.
I would really recommend it.

Ok do I still need to give a rider a training schedule, or if I plan a rider to ride eg tour of Portugal will the rider get fit for that race |

You still need to make a training schedule, but it goes a lot easier(if you have assigned him his races already)

The races that the rider will race will appear on the 'calendar', which is placed at the bottom of the season planner, so that you can make the schedule while observing his calendar. That doesn't happen in-game, so it's a lot easier

First, we should be clear about what we're talking here: are we talking about the in-game season planner or Lachi's Season Planner, which is the one Jesleyh is talking about and is also far better than the game one?
If it's the latter: after setting which riders will ride each races in the "season planner" tab, you can change to the "my team" tab and by clicking on each rider you'll see the races he'll ride just below his fitness schedule, so you can set the fitness schedule exactly according to the race dates. It's quite hard to explain this in words so here's an image (look at the bottom part):
You can then adjust the schedules to how you want them to be and when you export the .cdb, the riders will already be set to ride the races you chose and will have the schedule you decided.

Additional, the ingame season planner is much less complex and, well, is just not so good.
It is only used to assign riders to races. |
