Team logo creation

Hi can anyone suggest settings for creating team logo's with photoshop. Despite opening a file with a transparent background in photoshop, the background appears white in game. It is saved as a TGA, 32bit 128 x 64.

You need to edit the Alpha Channel (tab channels: the last one - if it isn't there click to add a new channel and it'll appear). Or, perhaps even better, save it as .png/.dds and then convert it to .tga.

What setting should the alpha channel have ?

In the alpha channel, white = 100% visibility, black = 0% visibility (and tones of grey have between 0 and 100% of visibility). So to have a transparent background you should have the parts of the logo in white, and the rest of the Alpha Channel in a black.

A way to do this is, after the logo is done, merge the layers (if there are more than one) into only one, then ctrl+click on the miniature of the layer. This will create a selection of the pixels from that layer; then you paint that selection white in the Alpha Channel.

As I said, saving as .dds/.png and converting might be easier Pfft
