Hey, I'm dabbling in the DB again, trying to add some things to the U23 side of the game. I'm wanting to increase the number of teams (countries in this case) that can participate in the races.
I had no problems adding races, or adding teams, but what I want to do is increase the number of teams per race.
I know this is done by editing the STA_UCI_class, U23_#NCup "gene_i_max_team", I can also edit the number of riders in this same spot.
Anyhow it seems that the maximum number of teams I can invite is 26, or 200 riders? Is this fact? Is there any workaround?
I don't think you can go with more than 200 riders. But did you try to lower the number of riders per team and try more teams then (keeping it under 200)?
Well the 26 teams/200 riders seems to be it, ran it a few more times, certainly seems to be the limits. Can either do 26 teams of 7 riders, or 25 teams of 8 riders. Tried 27 teams/6 riders, no joy.
So now the question is, should I do either:
A: 25 teams, with 8 riders each (200 riders total)
B: 26 teams, with 7 riders each (182 riders total)
with A I will get to see more riders, but with B I will get to see a more diverse set of riders. I'm leaning towards A, and just adding enough U23 races the diversity part doesn't matter.
As a note, I've basically added 4 teams to the standard 26, putting all of the smaller countries that aren't represented into 1 of those 4. (Americas, Europe, Asia/Oceania, and Africa). These teams still have less cyclists than some of the bigger cycling countries.
For some numbers, France has 230, Italy 200, Spain 181, Germany 160, Europe 150, Netherlands 120, Asia 100 ect ... Africa 40, Americas 80.
