Well, i signed a rider from Poland who did very well in the U23 ranking in the climbing stages, as I'm looking for good climbers for my team. When he joined my team, he was totally a rider for clasics: 71 COB(best stat). 68 flat, 65 Hill, and the lowest stat was MO: only 58. Is that a bug, or the rider's stats are just random? |

1. Is his specialization "Climber" ?
2. How many potential stars does he have in MON and COB ? |

My guesses, he got into breakaways, classics specialists are normally good at this, his stats overall indicate he is probably one of the best U23 riders and likely has high stats in RES as well.
With 71 cob I would assume his specialization is Classics, but it could also be fighter, the two can be similar.

Well, I don't go for breakwayas because he was top 3 on all the Mountain stages where he took part...
His specialization is Nothern Classics. He has 3 stars MO potential and 5 stars COB potential |

U23 Ranking is mostly useless.
It can give you an idea as to who is suited to what terrain but this is hardly a rare occurence.
Frankly i would be very happy with a 71 in any stat coming straight from the U23 rankings.

Good rider .
Post him in the talent thread.
He is definitely a classics man.
Maybe the mountain stages were mostly hilly, because he has a pretty good HIL stat. It's the only explanation I can found for now. |

That is probably a good guess, I think there is actually only 1 mountain stage for U23 races, Ronde de l'Isard stage 4, which is incredibly mountainous. I would also still venture to bet his RES stat is high.

Yeah, I was thinking same thing regarding hill stat when i read this. That is probably why, hills is really really important on the mountain stages too i find.
RES has been mentioned, he probably has good Stamina too which would also help on the mountains since they more draining, having a bigger tank helps. Classics guys usually have good stamina too, so that would fit. |

Not if the stage is shorter than 200k, which I guess applies to all U23 stages

There he is. His COB limit is 82, so he'll be a great rider for classics.(His age is now 21.)

There's also Tour de L'avenir, with several Mountain stages, on the U23 calendar...
@Cartofcubic Wow, that guy is pretty good. And indeed, good STA and RES stats

True, but that is towards the very end of the season, I'm not thinking he's was that far into the season.

It's in the begging of the second season. |
