Hard difficulty.

I'm ready to switch my difficulty to hard, but I saw lots of threads where it was said that the transition to hard is very strange. I heard that you can change the hard difficulty from 2.5% to 1.25% or something like this. How can I do that?(I use pcm fast editor) |

Open the Local.cdb, located in My Docs/PCM12, with an editor, and in table STA_race_difficulty, change the "gene_f_ref_caraccoeff" from the HARD line to the value you want (in this case 1,25). I'm not totally sure if the Fast Editor works fine editing Local.cdbs, if it doesn't you might want to try the Full Editor.

Before you change it I hope you are aware that difficulty doesn't actually make the CPU ride smarter.
All your riders just gets an invisible stat decrease in 3D. |

im not entirely sure of this. although my evidence is anecdotal. is it verified fact thats the only thing that changes? in my experiences the scripts change for each race according to difficulty (ie who attacks and when) ill look for the scripts and get back to you
top 10 of all time in no particular order, not including the cannibal cause hes automatically #1:
-Gemininani -Nencini -Anquetil -Coppi
-Kelly -Hinault -Zabel -Bettini -Rebellin -Magni
..and honorable mention to Tom Simpson whos career was cut short.
Top 5 noobs most likely to tear it up this season:
-Phinney -Moser -TJ -Guardini -DURBO!

This is partly correct, there are scripts in the game that do change based on difficulty, though I'm not sure the scripts are any better. Your riders stats definitely do decrease though.

Hard changes the AI stats bonus to 2,5%. So changing this to 1,25% in the editor is half-medium/half-hard

Ok, I think I'll edit in the editor then, because the results I'm having is pretty unrealistic. I can't drop guys with 78 mountain stats, and my own riders are 81-82...
EDIT: In my EXTREME coloumn it says 1.05, so aren't the difficulty on HARD gonna be harder to ride against, than EXTREME?

thats you, not the difficulty level. nibali dropped both shlecks last TDF i play consistently on the climbs and i play on extreme difficulty only. its all about you how play and how you react to the AI. dont get to upset yet, keep playing on hard and you will relearn how to win races. big hint if you didnt know it already: DOT is your friend.

1.05 = 105% = 5% of bonus
