The reasons of the sponsor demands

I have a question : how do the sponsors make their demands ?
It is :

1. According to the the results from the last year ? I saw that after having a demand TOP 5 Vuelta and accomplishing that, I received a TOP 3 Vuelta, and after accomplishing that, the next year I received a deman Winning the Vuelta.

2. According to your team. If you have a good COB rider you will have some serious demands in the spring, but if you have a stage races orientated team, you will receive objectives according to your team.

or

3. Randomly, but homogeneously distributed over the season.

Which one Frown ?

Definitely not the 3rd.
So, only 1 and 2 are the options left.

4. Outrageously expecting you to achieve top results for events you can't even enter. (for continental teams anyway)

It's according to your team. Try and create a custom stage race team: you'll have GC goals. Also depending on the strength of your team.
