Dear Daily
Do you also have the feeling that Paris - Nice could be made much more interesting with several steep climbs and legendary mountains? Do you also think that Prudhomme doesn't spend enough time on the course against the Sun? D you think that he focuses more on the Tour de France than Paris - Nice. Do you also feel that the potential for Paris - Nice goes significantly further than ASO wants it to?Â
Then you're in luck!
Maddrengen and myself (Kritzo) have for a long time had the same feeling. We decided to do something about it, and the result is a Paris - Nice variant. The race starts with a time trial in Paris, and ends with a hard hilly stage to Nice. It will be a true drama!
The Route:

We are sincerely sorry about the quality of the picture. We aren't as good as emmea, but we tried. Hope you like it.
Feel free to write critique. Both good and bad.
We hope you look forward to the release!
- At least we do
Sincerely

Stage 1:
It all starts very untraditionally, with a time trail, instead of a prologue. The riders is going on a trip, through the streets of Paris. The rute has many turns, but still a couple of longer distances. It'll be exiting, thats for sure!
This is the profile:

Stage 2:
The only really flat stage of this Paris-Nice. Orléans's got great traditions, in cycling, and Paris-Nice. At the end, there'll be some smaller hills, but not something that'll scare the sprinters away. This is where the great sprinter-teams gotta show what they're capable of!

Nice idea to make a hard P-N. But I have to defend Prudhomme a little here. Most big climbs (above 1600m) are still covered in snow and closed during this time a year. The col de la Madeleine for instance is still a ski slope at the moment...
But good luck anyway Looking forward to the result...

Ye, we know that. But that is not a hurdle in the Stage Editor. It would be more fun, however, for the PCM-players to play a stage-race with more steep climbs and legendary mountains.
FYI:
Tonight we'll be releasing the next two stages;
A hilly stage from Dijon to Bourg-En-Bresse, with two 3.cat climbs.
And a Mountain stage from Lyon to Saint-Jean-de-Maurinne, where the riders are passing the Col de la Croix de Fer a feared climb for many riders!

Stage 3
The riders will now have a taste of what awaits them later on. The stage starts in the flat terrain of Dijon, but after the category 3 climb, Com aux Bouchalets, the route goes string hilly. At this stage, we get a taste of who has entered the race in the best shape and who, who do not have nearly good shape.

Stage 4
Now we really get started on the high mountains with out-of-category climb, the Col de la Croix de Fer, as many may know from the Tour. The stage is perfect for S. Sanchez or maybe Nibali, since it ends with a tough descent against the finish line in Saint-Jean-de-Maurinne. A city that is known for its endless good training possibilities, because it is located in the center of the French Alps.

Stage 5
Already on 5th day the riders are offered nothing less than the king stage. It goes up and down all day, and has as many as 4 out-of-category climbs. The riders may already early in the stage consider their participation in the further stages. It is only the pure Grimpeurs. This stage might be and is perhaps crucial for the whole race. The "heavier" boys in the peloton will have a very hard day. And the group of sprinters willcase be formed early in the stage.

Stage 6
A plain route until we reach the village Les Essoulieux. From there it goes steep up on the legendary climb Alpe d'Huez. Very untraditional the stage does not end on the top of Alpe d'Huez, but ends on a relatively unknown, but very steep climb, in cycling context, the newly asphalted, Col. dl 'Herpie. A horrific climb, rising by 900 meters in just 8 km. Here the small mountain riders, who have an excellent acceleration will stand out! This is also where the last battle for the yellow jersey will be!

interesting stages, even they aren't really realistic. In reality the whole event would be cancelled because of snow. Its not even safe to climb those mountains in the summer every day. In short, I think you're a bit over the top here, but this is okay if you don't want to be that realistic.
But I would definitely play them, thats for sure.
Edit: really nice presentation, how is everybody doing this?^^

We know that it would be cancelled because of snow, but we made it so Paris - Nice would be interesting to play in the game. The "mission" was to make a super hard 8-day race, with some mountainious stages. It was made as a variant for the 2013 Paris - Nice in the game.
And thank you!
BTW: Screenshot from the stage-race will be posted soon!

Here they are! The screenshots for the first 4 stages.
Stage 1
Profile:

It is a very rainy day in Paris..

But a lot of people have come to see the epic start of the race!

Stage 2
Profile:

The next day is a sunny day. We are just outside of Orléans

Here we are in the lovely fields of the central France

And the day ends in the well-known city Auxerre with a bunch sprint won by Allan Davis

Stage 3
Profile:

The 3rd day is also a sunny day. Here we have a view from above the peloton from a helicopter

The peloton have entered the hilly landscape!

It is a reduced peloton driving under the 10km mark

Contador has driven away form the bunch, but are they too close to him?

..Yes they were. Victory for the GC leader, Tony Martin!

Stage 4
Profile:

Here we are, in Lyon. It is going to be a hard day!

But the riders seems to have it nice in the bunch

But it is not! The bunch is starting on the Col de la Croix de Fer!

No one is agressive on the way up, but as soon as the persentages is negative, a small group of riders is attacking!

And it all ends up with a solo victory for Alberto Contador!
