adding riders

how do you add riders to the pcm.daily database? tried doing it through the db editor but it didnt work

You just open the DB you want to add him to with an editor.
Find "DYN_Cyclist"
Add a line at the bottom and fill out the info in the same way as with the other riders.

And remember if you want to use him in a savegame you have to edit your save - not the "base DB"

which editor? ive got lachis editor, would that do?

It should do just fine. I myself have only used Fast Editor and Excel Editor, but it should be the same procedure in Lachis

yeah it's the same process in Lachi's editor, just remember to click off teh bottom line for it to save the new record.

What do you want to know? If you want to know the tables, it's DYN_cyclist for riders and DYN_team/DYN_sponsor for teams, for all editors. Although in the Fast Editor the table names appear only as "Cyclist" and "Teams".
