At the start of lap 2 Virgin's Montana attacks and is joined by 6 others. Agudelo, Chacon, Piamonte, Henao Montoya and Salazar.

With 166km to go, the break has 11 minutes on the pack and Agritubel's Colorado attacks.

It only took him 40km.

With 4 laps to go, the break is starting to takes it toll and Colorado takes full advantage and by 2 laps to go is on his own.

Parra Pinto and the rest of the big guns have started closing the gap, but it is far too late and Colorado wins.
