Hi, anybody got an idea how to convince a rider to partecipate in World Champ race? I am responsible for Team Italy and it is third season that the rider tells me he is not ready to participate in the championship...
You could edit it in the PCM Fast Editor. Go to the "Rider" section and change the column "National selected something something" from 1 to 4. (0 is not asked, 1 is declined, 4 is accepted).
It's pretty random, unfortunately. Hilly riders will like a hilly terrain more, but the rest is purely random. There's nothing you could do to convince him in the game.
1. I'm pretty sure the rainbow jersey holder will always defend if asked. IE; 2012 doesn't suit Cavendish at all, he was on my pro team and wasn't always scheduled to be fit for that period but was always willing to be on the team.
2. I remember when going through a db editor there was a nationalist stat in there (different to the nat select) and i remember having the impression it could only have relation to national call ups. Unfortunately, I don't have game access at the moment so I cant go and check that right now.
3. I'm pretty sure the bigger star a rider the more picky they will be. I don't recall ever having a domestique level rider refuse a call up, only the top stars who look to win races.
As the guys above has said, once in game I'm not sure anything can influence it. I regularly get Wiggins and Froome refuse to come to WC as the race isn't one their season goals etc. I've tried having them on my team and giving them schedules that see them peak for that time and still had them turn me down. So I'm fairly confident that not even that will impact.
