It had to start soon - talk about the Giro, the first Grand tour and the most important for some here - who will be wearing pink at the end of the 3 weeks?
Course for 2008
Last year:
Last year started off as a battle between Di Luca and Cunego after some random gaps were given - however, Cunego shone through, and eventually the battle for 2nd between Di Luca and Simoni beccame the highlight
Discovery started off by winning the TTT prologue.
Sprinters
No sprinter would win the points jersey (Di Luca did by 1 point), but Bennati, with 2 stage wins took the moral victory
KOM
Piepoli attempted for this, but Cunego got it in the end
Maglia Rosa
3 - Danilo Di Luca was the first to set the standard with a win up the first mountains to wear pink
5 - Nibali (Liquigas) breaks to take a great solo win
6 - Bettini (Discovery)
8 - Marco Velo (Milram) breaks for victory
9 - Simoni wins, but Di Luca increases lead in 2 horse race vs Cunego
10 - Laurent Mangel AG2R PRÉVOYANCE breaks to victory
11 - Piepoli wins, but Cunego 2nd to cut lead to 42"
12 - Mountain TT gives Piepoli another win - Cunego and Di Luca both have same TT time
13 - Di Luca wins 6 way bunch sprint
14 - Cunego takes great win and a 1'25 lead
15 - Cunego wins again - 3 minute lead now
16 - Di Luca wins and gets closer to secures 2nd
17 - Rubens Bertogliati SAUNIER DUVAL - PRODIR breaks to victory
18 - Simoni takes a stunning win to go second!!!
19 - Di Luca regains the time in the ITT
20 - Remmert Wielinga SAUNIER DUVAL - PRODIR wins the final stage in a breakaway

last year GC battle between two of mine (now) riders
sprinters battled by 2 of my riders
KOM for my rider 
can I beat that preformance this year??? I hope so! I got a very strong lineup, which you will see very soon if you watch my media topic.
very looking forward to this race. it's my main goal.

Simoni will be my champions for this course, with heavy support from my many strong Italians, namely Savoldelli.
The Italians will be supported by my underperforming German, Schumacher and Old School O Grady.
All in all a strong team, that will take stagewins, and hopefully a top 5 over all.
Manager of Protour champions 2008, Carlsberg Cycling!! (wow is it that long ago I was in the management game?)
