Youth rider training sponsorship

Probably a stupid question as the management depth is anything but deep. But curious if when w youth rider is receives training sponsorship if it gives them some attribute progression during the time until they join a team they signed for?

I doubt it but figured I might as well ask. My assumption is youth sponsorship only increases the chances of them signing with their sponsor (even though I've signed riders sponsored by other teams without issue).

This is for nothing.
It does not raise the stats.
It does not increase the chance of signing, neither for you nor for the AI teams.

So its another completely useless functionality like equipment?

Have to say that's pretty pathetic that Cyanide creates the basis for good ideas but they leave them completely meaningless edition after edition.

In 2011, it had one function, which is rather a bug:

If you sign a young rider sponsored by another team, there is a chance he'll appear on both teams next season.
