Guys, I really need some help deciding whether or not I should buy this. It's 25% off on Steam, and I'm tempted to just buy it.
But now I read on several forums that the game isn't actually that good. I love manager games, and I own PCM 09 and 10 but never even finished a season.
I'm not a hardcore cycling fan either, I just love watching the Tour de France and that's it. So, advice is more then welcome. |

You should buy it This years edition has a fun Online feature that is based on FIFA's Ultimate team. You gather cards and eventually you can build a great team
If your not really a fan of career, the online feature itself makes the game wourth buying.
Atleast thats my opinion

I will be probably the only one here who will advice you to not buy it. Because if you have pcm 09 and 10 and not playing much, pcm 12 is not much better game than these two, because Cyanide is not listening to the community. So save you money for something else and when you want play cycling game, player the older one...

I think you'r wrong my friend The interface might need a little time getting used to, but the game itself has developed alot (especially when you download the databases available).
Buy the game

Buy the game
That depends on personal preferences, for me 2007 edition and older are still much better. But when he is not playing 2009,10 when having it, why buy 2012? Because it is on the steam sale? People never play half of the games they bought there.
Btw. what do you think is better apart from graphics?

I see your point, but he will get hooked when he starts playing! The graphics itself is a reason to buy the game, it makes the player experience much better. Apart from that the online feature (as mentioned above) is much better and more social. I also find the continental teams (Joker Bianchi etc) contributing to the game. Other than that its always fun having all the players and stats up to date. (Ofcourse it might be an up to date database for the 09/10 edition):
I don't agree with you at all when it comes to the 2007 edition, the graphics have improved so much that playing the 2007 edition seems to me like playing FIFA 2004 instead of FIFA 2012

I don't really care for graphics. I have concerns about every stage ending in a mass sprint, like I felt it was in the 09/10 editions. (This might be totally untrue)
Or the unrealistic sponsor goals, like winning a stage in the Star Elektra Tour with my youth team (all under 20 years) while most of the superstars of cycling are also riding.
I don't want to win everything, but the results need to be realistic. That's the major selling point for me.

I was expecting somewhat you are looking for this and i can swear nothing you mentioned has changed in the better way.
Sponsor goals are still shite and they still dont have any effect on anything. managerial side of the game is still very bad.
And also second thing you mentioned is still present in the game, people are now testing it deeply but it seems the new patch just brought the old problem with too many riders finishing together and mass sprints at Amstel gold race and so...

Well some are complaining about excactly what you are talking about there, even though I have never experienced that problem, but nevertheless there will be another patch released in a week or so that will fix that problem
So have you come to any conclusion yet?

I'm leaning towards not buying it. Maybe I'll pick it up when there's huge discount.
It seems nothing changed for the better, so I'll pass on this years editions.
Thank all of you for your unbiased comments ! |

If you want to play a cycling game and don't care about the latest teams and riders, then your old games are just fine. PCM 2010 looks nice and you might even find an updated database for the year 2012.
If you want to play the latest thing with great graphics, then buy this game. |

They're just selling the same game every year with new bugs. Don't give them your money. |

Well if more people buy the game they will be able to invest more in programmers / bug testers / staff etc. Not buying the game will only detain the progress concerning PCM 13.
So please don't convince people to not buying the PCM games!

So you seriously believe that if nobody buys the game it will get better or atleast stay the same as this year's edition? That just the opposite of logic

What Avin is saying is that they want you to buy the game so they can swim in pools of cash and sip champagne before they stop and think of more ways to make money. They don't care about fixing bugs or actually making a realistic game. It's all about money.
I think the thing that would make them make some real positive changes would be if no one bought the game. Give them a reality check.
