development of young riders
yoejo
If I have a real, real talent in my team, let´s say a 22 year old kid, and he´s training VERY well and very fast, and I know he´s gonna be storng in the future.
can I do something 4 him so he can become even better? if he´s a GC-rider, shall I try to let him take the mountains jersey in the small stage races, let him go in the breakaways often, or does it really matter?B)

"Also, for young riders: be sure to give them experience in low-level races so that their talents increase. I sign up for 2 or 3 tours a year that are just tours to give those riders experience. Remember: T.1 and C.1 races give riders experience at level 1, while HC races give riders experience at level 2. HC races are fairly rare so be sure to schedule some for your level 2 riders (the Tour of Langwaki is a good early one). "

First off, make sure you train him with a mythical trainer who specialises in the area you want to train him in (e.g. mountain for a stage racer, classics for a puncheur, etc.). You should be able to see if a trainer has a specialisation on the staff screen (with patch 1.0.2.0 or better). Only mythical trainers have a specialisation. A suitable trainer will significantly increase his % training bonus.

Second, you can gain him experience by selecting him for races. Note that the higher the experience level he is (i.e. 1 to 4), the better races he'll have to enter to get more. When he reaches a new experience level his stats will increase.

Keep him happy! My experience is the higher his moral, the better his % training bonus. Therefore the faster he develops!

Finally, every rider has a limit. Once his potential is reached then you can't make him any better (unless you edit his potential in the DB Wink).
