Radioshack announced today that they are no longer involved in the team formally known as "Radioshack - Nissan - Trek", they have released a short statement as to why and if they are continuing in the sport.
"Today as I stand here I am officially announcing the withdrawal of Radioshack as a sponsor of the team "Radioshack - Nissan - Trek". I do however wish to let the world of cycling know we will be back. Radioshack was sick of this teams ill commitment to the sport and wish to start over away from riders on that team. Names of those riders are confidential(*COUGH SCHLECK *COUGH*). Thankyou"
- Daniel Feehan, Chairman of Radioshack
Garmin have today announced that they are in search of another sponsor to field their team. The most likely candidate at the moment seems to be Sharp.
Rumors emerged the day Garmin announced they were looking for a title sponsor that Radioshack were involved and today Daniel Feehan confirmed that this was the case and a new combined of the two teams would exist for the 2012 season.

Good luck! It will be interesting to see what "a new beginning"means.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring.

I doubt he'll put every good rider from both teams.
I reccomend keeping Kloden, Martin, Talansky and maybe Zubeldia. The rest of the leaders should disperse to other teams.

Instead of dispersing the riders, i'm going to leave them all free agency so the game can decide what happens to them.
I can confirm two names and two names only..... Hesjedal and Horner. |

Teddy is right, I want a strong team but it's no fun having a team that is guaranteed to win.
Unfortunately Zulbedia will not be included. |
