This fix does not require a restart of your career.
Is it probable that you'll have to restart career at the next patch? I most certainly hope not...
Any idea when it's expected, even? Days, weeks...?
Normally it does.
This is the first time I can remember that a career from before the patch was compatible, not needing a restarted career.
You never know for sure, but I would say if there are bugs in Career mode later that are fixed in future patches it will most likely require a restarted career.

I know absolutely nothing about designing/making a game but how long could it take to release a patch? It feels like ages since the last patch (only armade bugs are fixed btw). I realy want to start a career but without some bug fixed (U23 races for example) it's not worth it.
