Inserting a jersey into game

I've made a .tga jersey for my career that I'm doing over in the story forums too, but as I've already started the career, can I simply overwrite the maillot file I originally used with my new jersey or are there other steps?]

Also, what do you think of the jersey? It's my first go using Paint.net nevermind making a jersey!

Wow that looks complicated! Thanks for the links, I'll have a stab at doing that soon.

I've added some nike logos and stuff now so it looks a bit better.
