Stage editing in saved game

Hi. I recently updated some of the races in my saved game to the 2012 versions released by Daniano. I did not change the race names or dates, just the stages, tour of Romandy, for example.
Despite the fact I had registered to ride the race, it dissapeared off the race calender and I did not take part. The stages still showed in the daily calender at the bottom of the game screen. Any ideas ?

If you only replaced the stage files and did not edit the database, then both things must be unrelated.

No I amended the d/b with stage file names, stage type, length, start finish towns etc. But I thought the game was only affected if the race name or dates were changed ? Otherwise the only time you can update races would be during the closed season, which is pretty pants.

You should not add races during the season because the game calculates the race calendar at the start of the season.
But you should be able to change any existing stage before the race started.
Sadly, I really don't know what changes could make your team and/or riders cancel a race.
