Stage 2 and with Froome in Yellow he will be looking to keep it all the way to the finish. The finish today is interesting though, because the breif kick at the end will mean those who can sprint uphill will win today. Monfort, Claeys and Froome are favourites.

It's windy today, which could make things interesting
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland017.jpg

The first attempt at a break is pulled back
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland018.jpg

Rapa seem happy to let 14 riders to go with 60km left, we'll get their names as they go through the sprint point
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland019.jpg

The order is: Renshaw, Rabou, Flens, Vorganov, Briggs, Goesinnen, Dumoulin, Landa, Engoulvent, Park, Serebriakov, Schadlich, Blank and Raabe. The gap is 3'10" with 50km to go, this will be tough for Rapha to pull back without help
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland020.jpg

Bianchi gets involved in the chase when the gap hits 4 minutes with 50km to go.
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland021.jpg

40km to go, the gap is 3 minutes and Monsalve and Kelderman attack

As the break go under 20km to go they have 90 seconds on the chasers, and a further 20 on the peloton
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland022.jpg

The 20km attack comes to it's inevitable pointless end.
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland023.jpg

10km to go and the gap is 55" Vorganov will be very dangerous if he makes it to the hill
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland024.jpg

5km to go and the gap is 30 seconds, but the peloton has almost caught the back end of the break, no one wants to make their move
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland025.jpg

The catch is made at 3700m with the hill in sight, now, who is positioned well?
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland026.jpg

Rapha storm past the breakaway riders as the hill begins
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland027.jpg

Froome doesn't need help anymore, he's going for it with his teammates stopping anyone getting on his wheel
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland028.jpg

Sulzberger follows him, while Vorganov digs deep after his efforts in the break
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland029.jpg

The Rapha riders have a gap, and should they get pulled back Tennant is waiting
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland030.jpg

Froome sprints clear of his team mate
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland031.jpg

Vorganov tries to close the gap but Froome is way too strong
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland032.jpg

Now the peloton start to sprint
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland033.jpg

Claeys is easily the quickest
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland034.jpg

He's closing on Froome
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland035.jpg

But no where near quick enough as Froome almost secures the race on day 2
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland036.jpg

Over a minute behind Hesjedahl leads Proni, Vorganov and the rest of the bunch through in third
i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m584/mb261289/Southland/Southland037.jpg

The only way to beat Froome now seems to be in break aways, and Binchi looks like they have the strength to do it on stage 7, with 5 riders in the top 10.
