86 in mountain and potential to increase?

I am playing on an historical database, where Eddy Merckx increased from 85 to 86 in mountain after a training camp just before TdF. Nore than two months later, a coupple of weeks later than the Vuelta, he still has 86 and now even the potential to increase (having one star next to the Mountain skill).

I fail to comprehend how this is possible as I thought 85 was the cap for rider stats. Is it possible to change the cap for a DB and even if it is it remains strange that all other riders never get above 85 or have any potential when on 85 in a stat? Also I have not before seen Merckx increase to 86.

I am now training him with a lvl 10 mountain trainer to see what happens.

I believe it is possible to amend the 'ceiling' height in the young riders file, but it certainly shouldn't be possible for riders in a standard database. Fitting that Merckx was the man to break the limit Wink

I just have not seen it happening before with anybody in any stat, but yeah of course if it had to happen who else thab Merckx hehe.

I'm 100% not sure, but I think with training camps you can do this if their base stat is close enough to 85 even in the normal game.

You won't benefit from any stat above 85.

I'm guessing it's a display bug that has occurred due to the use of training camps.

I had the same situation with Fabio Duarte in PCM10 (pcmdaily database). His Mo=85 and after training camp raise to 86.
