Someone has made a suggestion over PM, so it'd be nicer if we all hear about them.
Ideas for future seasons please

1. I hate the steal rule!
2. I suggest we get a lot of say in our Neo-pro. Both name, nationality. Possibly even what type of rider he is (though that should be up to the draft I suppose)

I think that the first few days show that the bidding incremeents are too small and makes it easy to just nid tactically in only bid slightly over.
I suggest perhaps a minimum raising of..5% of the bid size...to make the bidding reach where its going faster!

This shouldn't take place before the next seasons transfer period, but anyway:
As the NFL has the "Rookie Combine" to test the Neo-Pros in skill and athletic capacity, my idea is based on that same concept.
After the season is over and BEFORE the transfer period starts, a small number of races could be held. The only ones to participate should be FREE AGENTS and NEO PROS. This way everybody would have a quick look at the free transfers available.
This season it would've been impossible, since there are simply too many of these riders. But maybe next season we would see this experiment come to life? |

A scaled minimum bid. Sure 2000 is okay when the bids are low but it pisses me off when you get up to, for example, 500,000 and people are still adding miniscule amounts.
I reckon once 200,000 is passed the minimum bid should be 5k, pehaps after 500k that should move up to 10k.

yeah, that would work better than my idea, and to the same effect.
We COULD also just ask people to be reasonable, but thats a lost cause i suppose ;-)

I have an idea. I think even category 1 riders should be allowed to ride to grand tours, unlike last year. You see guys like Evens, Sastre, Menchov and many other leaders go for 2 grand tours. And i think that should be allowed. Just a suggestion.

I disagree. A 1 GT limit allows variation and blocks domination from a rider. I wouldnt like the likes of Vinokourov, Schleck, Cunego, Di Luca, Valverde etc etc being able to win 2 GTs in a year.

even though i am CT, watching the game last year I like the 1 GT limit too. In real life the leader generally isnt 100% in the other GT but its hard to duplicate that in PCM.

Could the category 2 riders at least ride 2 grand tours, that way he can ride as a helper for one and ride to win another.

I thought I had replied to it already. I think its a bad idea.
Sure, in theory theyd be a helper in one and leader in the other but in practice, theyd just be the leader for both of them which is not what we want.

If we divide them up in
1 leader/ co leaders
2 lieutenant,
3 lux helper
4 Domestiques
I would likely agree that lieutenant should ride leaders 1 tour, Lieu's 2 tours, lux helpers 3, doms 3...
But I think thats the way it was last season too, no?

Lieutenants should definately have at least 2 GTs. And it depends how things work as My Category 3 rider from last season: Francisco Mancebo, has a higher wage than some Category 1 riders from last season, such as Hincapie, Andy Schleck, Simoni, Evans (Who seems to have benifited from a TDF crash which meant he scored less therefore gets a lower wage), Julich, Ricco (Benefited from riding 0 GTs), Leipheimer and Kloden.
Which shows that we obviously have to discard the old category system, as my Category 3 rider is supposedly better than all of the above.

I think we should disallow comments in the transfer topics - only bids should be allowed.

i guess it would definitely make it easier to determine who is leading and would be especially helpful in the 48 hour auctions

my suggestion for the new season is that we limit the number of steals to one per team instead of two. Just puttin that out there
