Downloading patches?

I may sound like an idiot here but i was wondering... do i need to download all the patches to have all the bugs fixed or do you just download the latest patch for all the bugs to be fixed...

in other words, which is the most useful patch to download for pcm 10?

Just download the 1.0.4.1 patch from 1.0.0.0 and it is enough.
Don`t install the newer 1.0.4.2 patch if you just play offline.
To avoid the auto update, you should start the game with the PCM.exe instead of the Autorun. Otherwise you always have to click "no".

one other quick question... now that i got the patch, will my current career i been playing still be saved or will i lose it?

With what patch did you start the career?
It must be at least 1.0.3.0. Otherwise you won`t have all important changes.
If you started the career earlier, a restart would be necessary to enjoy the game.
