A few questions on buying riders and scouting
edibletoast
So for once i've made it far enough into a game to start thinking about signing riders for the next season however since i've never been this far before I have a few questions :

- If a rider is still in contract with another team aka until 2012 and i'm still in 2010 can i sign them to start riding with me in 2011 ? or do i have to wait until they have no contract for the next season aka i would have to wait until 2013 to sign that particular rider?

- I have no idea how much money i can spend, I have 580,000 euro and am currently in june in the continental tour but will almost definitely be promoted to the pro tour next year so how much should i be spending as i'm presuming i get more money for sponsors in the pro tour? and will obviously need a larger team

- Ok this is a bit about scouting , I have read there is no point listening to your scouts and to just go by the under 23 results, am currently monitoring one U23 but I have no idea how as i can't seem to monitor the others, do I have to have a scout in the same country as them? and if so do they have to be in the right region (by guessing i assume?) and will I have to wait a few weeks for him to build up enough knowledge to them be able to monitor him?

- When i sign young riders you get a chance to tick "trainee" what does this do?

- This quesiton just came to me now and i've seen it asked before but couldn't find it by searching, how many days should a rider race a year as mine are on about 50 in june so I think they'll be at about 80 by the end of the season, is that too much?

Thanks for reading if you made it this far through all those questions and thanks for the help Smile

- Riders who are under contracts can't be signed until their contract runs out ("No contract for next season"Wink

- I don't remember the answer to this one. There's a formula which tells what kind of budget you can expect. Lachi or someone else might be able to remember this.

- You have to "find" them (by scouting) in order to be able to monitor.

- Trainee = stagiaire = young rider that's able to start racing for your team in August

- 60 race days is the optimal. After 60, the max fitness will start dropping (check https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_362173).

Ok thanks a lot for the help , looks like I will have to rethink my signings for next year :s
If someone who does know the formula for the amount of money i can spend, could answer that would be really helpful thanks

Lachi
About the budget for next year. It is related to the sponsor happiness. You get about double the money if the bar is totally full. You get half the money if the bar is totally empty. Same amount if in the middle.
I cannot remember the maximum amount but I guess it is 700000.

Awesome my bar is full Smile , thanks for all the help much appreciated

The bar has to be full at the end of the season, if that was not clear.
