As far as I know, you decrease their "age of decline" in the database (using the regular editor, that is) a couple of years below the age they have now.
They should retire by the end of the year.
But I might be wrong. |

Age of decline defines when a rider begins getting stat decreases - not when he retires.
If it's just for an online game, you can just delete the rider from DYN_cyclist. Mark the line of the rider and press delete.
In a career, you'd have to edit a few other tables, but as said: For online gaming, that should be enough. |

DYN_palmares_cyclist (find the rider, in the fkIDcyclist-column, set it to 0).
And if it's a save-game, you'd have to remove the rider's contract in DYN_contract_cyclist. |

Can't you just change the rider_state to 5 (Retired)?

I usually don't change save-games, but no, I don't think that that would work properly. |

I changed my savegame (DailyDB2011Final) to get rid of Ricco and that's the only thing I did. Can't find him anywhere anymore

Did the same thing with him and it worked but on the other hand he was a free agent and didn't have a contract to remove. If they're signed to a team I think you should remove the contract as well from DYN_contract_cyclist. |

DYN_cyclist -> gene_b_will_retire = 0, normally. 1 = will retire at end of the season / contract (I think he will stay out the contract, at least...)
Make sure that the contract ends in the year the rider will retire. DYN_cyclist_contract or something like that.
