I did not find where to post this question on the variants.
For the different variants, should be done before handling each season or variants change automatically when you start a season? I play with patch 1.0.4.1. thank you for your answers. |

If you have variants (rules, stages and descr files) in the right folders. then they will be integrated into your savegame when you start a new career.
If you want to add more variants in a started game you have to edit the DB. |

I think there are 3 or 4 variants for the Tour de France for example in the db that I use. I do each year a different variant for GT if it is installed in the correct file as you told me? |

after 4 seasons when all variants were used, is that the TDF (or giro/vuelta) becomes that of the 2010 season? |

Depends on the settings of the rule file. Often it`s just repeated. 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4..., so it`s the same order. But you don`t have to. You can also have 1,2,3,4,2,1,4,3,1,2,3,4,... Then the 2011 version would come.
You can check it in CM_Stages/variants.
Open the France Grand Tour_rule.xml by right click->open with notepad editor.

In the PCM.daily DBs, the variants are used, then the 2010 route and then the variants again.
(And for once, I was slower than Roturn - even though he came up with a better explanation than I did  )

so I can add new variants found in the patch PCM.daily 's 2011 Public Beta in the DB file CM_Stages / variants for more variants for my career already begun. |

Yes, but then you also have to edit DYN_variant_stage and DYN_variant_date.
Easiest way is to copy all stages, descr and the updated rule file into the right folders.
Then start a new career. The variants will be read into this new savegame. Then open this and you old savegame with the full editor. In the data/exports folder there are all tables now as xml.
You copy these two tables from the new savegame into the folder of the old one and overwrite these files. Then go into the Full editor again and create a new DB. This is your new savegame then, where you have the variants integrated.
Sounds harder than it is actually.
Don`t forget to backup your save before editing. You could crash it otherwise. |

Hello, i have a problem in my 2d season with Garmin.I dont get the new variants,the main races has the same profile as in first year.In CM_Sages i hve a lot of CDS and Zces files and folder "variant with XML files-is that right?
I am using 2011 Daily DB and i have waited for 4th of January

i have 1.0.4.1 and everything else works fine,only this is a problem,i will probably try reinstall with full package, now i have V2 with 2011 updater

Well, if all the files are there, it really should work. It does for everyone else.
Reinstalling won't help your save-game, though. Can you try to upload your save game? |
