Hi all! I know that some of you have talked about it already, but I still haven't found the answer to the question how to get the wild cards to ProTour races.
I'm already in my second year with my created team. My team is in the second place between the Continental teams and the overall Ranking too. How many months do I have to be on the top4 to be accepted?
I've seen that the nationality of the team is important too. Is that right? So if my team is not registerd in France, Italy or Spain, I never get the wild card and have to get promoted to try some bigger races? |

You need to a.) Win Races!
b.) make sure your applying for wildcard spots.
c.) You need big name riders to attract attention.
d.) if none of this works, than dominate many conti races, get promotes and then you will be on the uci protour calendar.
In conclusion, success is the key factor and make sure you have a back up plan if you dont get the top invite. |

Being registered in Italy, France or Spain does help to be invited for the Giro, Tour or Vuelta, but it's not necessary. If you keep winning Continental races you'll eventually get some wildcards.
Also, do you apply for all WT races or just for the Grand Tours? It wouldn't hurt to score some points in PN, Tirreno or Catalunya too. |

By now I have applyed a wild card to all the PT races.
I don't have huge stars in my team, but I've had few wins and plenty of top3 places. That's why I'm 2nd in continental tour.
I'll keep asking the wild card and even if I don't get, I'll try to be one of the two teams that gets promoted and next year I'll do the big races. |

You get promoted if you are 1st or 2nd of all Conti teams in the CQ ranking, not the Continental ranking.
One change with PCM10.
But if you don`t get wildcards, you can just collect points in Conti races therefore.
But if I am not wrong you get also points for mountain or sprinter jersey there and even for wearing them for one day. |

Yes, generally every point does count for the CQ ranking: Overall results, stage results, winning the jersey, wearing the jersey (but only if your rider is top on that ranking). But in the lower race categories, you get very few or no points for winning or wearing the jerseys. |
