We follow the two Tour tune ups in France and Switzerland with the last little nibbles before the big one:

Cyalogic certainly seems confused, Cancellara's Carmuese squad would be hard to make a case for winning this - mind you they may have installed his motor in their vehicles.
Last years champions Wikipedia are certainly more convincing having both world champion Zabriskie and recent Tour de Suisse champion Taylor Phinney in their ranks. Though it is perhaps not quite as good as last years team...
Not too many Team Time Trial's so far in the Protour, at the Giro we saw Team B +O and Sony Ericsson tied for time, with Philips not so far back. All three teams have solid credentials this time, Phillips with the lesser spotted Dekker making a rare appearence!
Festina, Nespresso and Vesuvio sport some very useful Time Triallers in their squad also. The two outstanding favourites you feel though would Auber 93, who dominated the Tour of Qatar TTT and Jack Wolfskin with a number of Dutch riders who should know every nook and cranny of the circuit.
Eagle eyed readers will notice a name missing from the line up, one squad did not wish to send a team here... (and no it is not the CONTROL team)
We follow this power test with a bit more individual punch required in the small hilly terrian in Luxembourg.

It is impossible of course to overlook Frank Schleck's name at the top of the list, this years winner of the Liege - Bastoigne Liege and FBD Eire Tour will want to add this one to this years palmaires as it is a team goal for Vesuvio.
But if you thought his name was on the winners trophy already think again, the Sanchez (Luis Leon and Sammy), Boesson Hagen, Van Gaarderan, Bakelants, J Rodriguez, Vanendert and Trofimov are here just to name but several hill climbing experts.
The key sections in this new classic, will be in the last 50km as the fairly lengthy Cote de Wahlhausen and steep Grauhausen climb come together quickly before the exciting uphill Cauberg/Mur de Huy like climb into Herrenberg.
Can anybody disappoint home favourite Schleck?
Schedule:
I will be posting the preview for the Tour at the weekend. So therefore I will be looking to post the TTT on Thursday evening and the Grand Duchy Classique will be with you on Friday evening. |

My major goal is approaching... I still see Wikipedia as my main rivals but hopefully my Dutch riders will be able to make the difference.

Probably my best TTT team ever, yet I'm very far from being anywhere near the best |

My team should also be very strong on paper. 8 riders with an avr. of 76,25... I doubt I will win or even be close, but on paper that avr. should be good.
The hilly startlist isn't too strong though so perhaps I could fit in a top 5 there if lucky.

I'm hopeful that somehow Colombia do not go off first in the TTT due to their placing on the startlist. Won't make too much difference though as the team is just in it for minimum points. |

What difference does it make if you go first or last?

Try it - send the strongest team/rider off first and I'm pretty sure they won't win it. |

I gave up on winning Eindhoven after a couple of seasons ago, when I had the strongest team, led by Cancellara and Millar (2 of the best in the game at the time) beaten by a Eurosport team with no real notable top time trialists. But hopefully Ive got an outside shot of a Top 5 here, although without Uran or Intxausti, I cant claim to have selected my strongest possible lineup.
I can only hope Grand-Duche goes as hoped. Its by 'Win' goal, simply because it seemed the most logical race to be so. Of course, theres not always been much logic in Schleck's tactics so far this season - a bit hit and miss - and so no idea which Schleck will be showing up this time.

Not had much experience at running the team tests, but the wind seems to me to be the biggest factor in individual time trials (other than stats). It is weird sometimes having the wind seems to be a plus and sometimes it is a negative - never edited a stage but does the wind have a 'direction'? |

You can set the wind to have a direction, but by far (if not all) stages have the 999 setting = random. |

I could do without a race like Eindhoven but I'm looking forward to the Grand-Duché. Let's see what Bakelants can do.
Also, should have brought Vastaranta there. He tends to overperform in races like this.

Quick update: The TTT will be up tonight though it maybe tomorrow CET - tried to report it in a reasonably interesting way, sorry to those teams who did not get a piccie. I would estimate about midnight cet, maybe a bit earlier.
Grand Duche: will be posted at a more civilized time as soon as I get in from work 2000 cet about on Friday. |

Not a lot I can do other than put all my best TTers in the race, still, 2nd is a nice boost to the "prove the doubters wrong" thing I've got going on
Was this a team goal for me? I'm guessing I didn't have it as one, and for that I am a fool. |

Hopeless ride, although admittedly, a team counting on Clesen and Kvasina as Top 5 riders is not going to be up there - but they ought to have challenged for the Top 10

3rd here. I can't be dissapointed in that seeing the 2 teams above me. 3rd is about where I expected to be pre-season, but I don't trust TTTs so I'm happy.
How do the pointsystem function for a race like this?
Oh, and very nice report. A TTT could be some very boring stuff, but you managed to make this very interesting. Props for that!
