Game asking for cd in the drive

Lately I have run into a strange thing.

I've installed the game on my girlfriends pc which is alot better then my own to enjoy the graphics. It's awesome. But her pc keeps asking for the cd in the drive at the start of each stage, even if it's in there!

I can fix it by opening and closing the drive, but it's annoying and time consuming. Anyone ran into something similar and got a better solution then mine? Does it matter that this pc has Vista, could it be some settings either in OS or the game?

Any help would be appreciated.

You could fix it by installing the download version, but maybe this is not an option for you.

Else, I do not know what the problem could be, because as far as I know, the game should check the CD only every 3 days and not every stage.

Maybe there went something wrong during the installation.

Or there exists a similar problem in the DVD version as with the download version. See more about that problem here: https://www.pcmdai...d_id=14453
(In this case the download-version might not help you either)

Create a disk image of the cd and load it before opening the game. That might work (sorry though, can't tell you how to do that on a PC, pretty sure it is possible though).

Thanks very much for the link Lachi. It was a USB stick in the E: port causing the problem.
