Hi
I want to correct some riders/team names using the DB editor but cant seem to make the changes appear in the game. Im not 100% sure which file i need to amend in the DB editor, have tried many and the changes have saved but do not appear when i run the game. im aware you can select a DB in options. Can someone please run me though the basics please? thanks in advance.
It depends on where you want the changes. If you want to change an on-going career, you need to change that specific save game. It can be found in My Docs/PCM/Database/Solo/DB_Name.
If you want to change it for new careers, you need to edit the DB. Custom DBs can be found in My Docs/PCM/Database, the standard DB is in Program Files/Cyanide/PCM/DB.
When making a change in the editor, make sure to click the Validate button after each change in the bottom of the editor.
If you create a new DB instead of overwriting the existing one, make sure to pick it in game -> Options -> Database.
thank for trying to help but still i cant manage....
i went into the game and began a season. before the first race i exit the game and go to the db editor, then open the cdb file under solo/custom (custom was the DB that was set as default when i set up my season) i can see my cdb file there for "season1" so i open it and change waggins to wiggins and click edit, it seams to work, then i go to file and select save xml file and it says xml saved ok (do i need to do this?). I go back into the game and it still shows waggins. I went back to double check the cdb file and its tells me the file exists do i want to overwirte the file and then do i want to create a version of it, to which i answer no to both, the file loads and i can see the change i made wiggins is there.
Don`t save a new xml.
Save with "Create CDB database". It?s the buttom below "Save as XML"
Then you create a new cdb file and copy this one into the same folder than your other savegame was in.
Open this new one and continue your career.
