Get the riders fit for the GT

Stagiare Posts: 209 Joined: 23-06-2009 PCM$: 200.00	Hey guys. I was wondering about. When i Will get my riders fit to GT races I just race the races before the GT. But im not sure if thats the correct Way to dÃ³ it so how do you guys. Gets your Best riders ready and fit for the GTs?

Stagiare Posts: 246 Joined: 16-01-2010 PCM$: 200.00	I dont think its so many other ways. When i want Hushovd ready for the TDF i use him in Tour de Belguiqe and then in Tour De Suisse. But dont use them to much or they will not be able to ride in the middle season. Im on the edge... of glory

Domestique Posts: 707 Joined: 25-06-2010 PCM$: 200.00	For GC contenders, I want them to peak in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. So I generally try to arrive at the beginning of a GT with a training fitness of 75-77/80 and racing fitness of 10/20 (coming in at 85-87 overall fitness). This may seem low, but if you have the right training schedule (the preset ones for GTs are good enough), after several stages you will be in the 90s, and by the deciding stages, at, or very close to 99 fitness. For sprinters, you want to come in at much higher fitness level (more like 99), so you should have more race days for them.
