There are hills everywhere, including the final time - trial so the puncheurs are the big favorites to take the overall win home. Luis Leon Sanchez is back to defend his title but this is year's main favorites include Valverde and Frank Schleck, as well as Trofimov and Hagen.
It's going to be a very tight race with some other good puncheurs riding here such as Bakelants, Spilak, Van Garderen, Samuel Sanchez, Joaquin Rodriguez, Sinkewitz, Di Luca or Juan Jose Cobo.
Daniele Bennati will be leading the 2010 Pro Tour Champions, La Gazzetta, settled to take the victories in the 2 stages that could end in a mass sprint. Freire, Avelino, Ventoso and Caethoven seem to be his main rivals.
For the time - trial that will end the race, Posthuma and Fiedler are on paper the big favorites but any of the riders that are going for the GC could also have a nice chance to take the stage win, especially Trofimov and Spilak who are known as being very good riders in the race against the clock.
Riders to follow:
| ***** | Alejandro Valverde | | **** | Frank Schleck, Yuri Trofimov, Edvald Boasson Hagen | | *** | Luis Leon Sanchez, Simon Spilak, Samuel Sanchez | | ** | Jan Bakelants, Tejay Van Garderen, Patrick Sinkewitz, Joaquin Rodriguez, Juan Jose Cobo | | * | Danilo Di Luca, Daniele Bennati, Andrei Kashechkin, Janez Brajkovic, Justo Tenorio |

A really tough startlist that probably will ensure that the race won't be decided in a long breakaway. Trofimov should at least get some podiums on stages and a high place in the GC if all goes well.

I'm just gonna pick the easy option here: Sony Ericsson will win it!

fucking Gautier. Lafarge sucks enough without you throwing wins away.

Some really bad tactics for my team there. Posthuma was dropped and then van der Hugenhaben and Mancebo waited for him, killing all my hopes for a top 20 in the GC.

Alright by Rodriguez. I had hoped he'd be able to keep up, but I guess he wasted too much energy in the 1st attack. |

Didn't you have plenty of offers for him in the previous transfer season? |

Sure, but I had the assumption he was good, so I decided to keep him.
