what is up with my stage results?
rdklein
I'm kind of new to cycling, but I dig these kinds of management games so I figured I'd give this one a shot.

Whenever I finish running a race and check the results, it never fails that I get a huge number of riders that have the same time posted... even though I know they didn't all cross the finish line at the same time.

like for one of the Australian Tour races (a 60km race), I have:

Leader 1h23'14" (1)
Rider 2 +0" (2)
Rider 3 +0" (3)
Rider 4 +0" (4)
... ....
... ....
Rider 83 +0" (83)
Rider 84 +3'23 (84)

So the first 83 riders crossed the finish line at the same second? This happens in a bunch of the races I run... it's really odd. I usually play my races out, too.

Does this happen to anyone else?

in cycling riders who finish in the the same group are all given the same time. it helps avoid chaotic and dangerous finishes to the race. so once inside the last km you only need to consentrate on your sprinters.
time gaps are calculated from the fisrt rider accross the line though, so if you are dropped from a big group just before the finish the gap can get big quickly

Hope that helps
always good to get new cycling fans especially with all the doping news

Yeah, nice to hear that some are still interested in the sport despite all the doping gossip (which unfortunately seems to be true).

In addition to what Frink said, it's worth mentioning that in real life riders who fall within the last three kilometers also get the same time as the main group. That rule is not implented in PCM, though.
