The weather forecast for Bordeaux today is occasional rain and 6 m/s wind from west, so crosswinds, but hardly enough to do anything. |

Breschel is in the breakaway. Nice after the performance from him yesterday.
But they are only 4, so guess HTC and Lampre will lead the peloton...
Breakaway: Matti Breschel (Saxo), Benoit Vaugrenard (FdJ), Daniel Oss (Liquigas), Jerome Pineau (Quick Step).
Go Matti!

Not necessarily at all. There's not always bunch sprints on flat stages at the end of G.T. especially right after exhausting mountain stages like yesterday's. Everyone is tired, and if a large groups escapes, there'll be less teams to do the chasing.
It's the kind of break that could win with 10+ minutes... |

Except that the Green jersey battle is still very much alive - Lampre in particular know that Petacchi should gain on Hushovd in the bunch sprints - and he needs to do so, while theres always HTC there to chase for Cavendish

There is virtually no wind, as just demonstrated on a stream i'm watching. The flag was still.

Ive never seen such a flat stage after the mountains, normally they add a cat 3 or a cupl of 4s in to try to stimulate a breakaway, it seems the race directors would like a sprint
disclaimer- due to this post there will obviously be a breakaway win

It was designed like this so that the Tourmalet was the last climb of any kind in the tour.

I feel like it should always be final mountain stage Friday then time trial Saturday then onto the Champs-Elysses Sunday. Everyone is right, there's nothing really to watch until the final few kilometers.

Yeah, a great perfomance by a guy with Bronchitis
But in all fairness Petacchi also has Bronchitis, both admitted to nearly not starting yesterday morning. A great ride by the both of them. - and they aren't the only Bronchitis suffers, a lot of the peloton has it.
Now, the green jersey is still alive. Here are some scenarios:
Cavendish wins in Paris, Thor can't win green.
Cavendish wins in Pairs, Petacchi comes 6th, Cavendish wins green.
Intermediate sprints will be vital.

Cavendish..easy win.
Thor had good lead out..then riders started to pass him..left and right..this was looking real bad. 14th.
Comment after..headwind..it was hard. Thor hard for benefit for you..you was hard sprint master. |
