More hills in races?

One thing I discovered was that it is more hills in this years game than last years one.

I wonder if the stage profiles have changed, so they look tougher than they actually are.

This is because the stages are now created from gpx files (files for GPS), meaning that whenever the route has been made using such a file, it automatically changes the altitude to fit the route, whereas you previously had to make the climbs yourself.

It can still be done that way too, but it isn't nearly as efficient

I am not talking about self-made stages, I am talking about the stages already in the race.

Well, those are obviously made the exact same way.

The difference being that the gpx has input on every climb along the route, whereas those insignificant climbs were omitted previously
