How many of you use the energy bar? I figured this was cheating (like training camps, which is essentially doping without the possibility of being caught) and never use them. I presume the AI riders don't have these? |

I think the AI does have these. I've seen several fair cases where everyone in single races mode where the AI just powered away in situations where it shouldn't really be able to do so.

There is no cheating in a solo game. If you are good, you can try higher difficulty levels. If you don't or you are lazy about micromanagement (like me), you play in normal sometimes. Training camps are a lot over the line, but an energy bar, I don't know. I guess waiting for the strongest to attack, counterattack and that way depleting your bar slower, and then leave him behind on the road (because we know that is exactly how cycling works in real life, it's just Schleck hasn't realised that he should do that to beat Contador) is more of a cheat, but that's the way it is.
If you are a little bit picky, almost everything you do in PCM to beat better riders can be considered a cheat: taking advantage of game issues to win over somebody when you shouldn't have a chance in normal conditions.

Of course it is NOT cheating. Google "cheating" or read it up in wikipedia.
The game allows you to do it and the same goes for using the dot when riding up, getting water before or after it is empty, counter attack your own riders, attacking down hill, using riders with good flat stat to pull sprinter so that you win every sprint, ....
If you feel bad by using some tactics, then don't.
On the other hand, why don't you add a poll for all the tactics I just mentioned. |

Cheating is "employed to create an unfair advantage". Sounds like what we have in this case, unless what Waghlon says is true and the AI does have these bars.
I think the other things you mention Lachi are just strategies and sure, maybe the AI doesn't use them, but that's a limitation of the game. It requires some skill and thought, at least, while pressing a button to get the gel doesn't.
Speaking of which, how much of a boost is it? |

But "pressing the button at the right time" can be part of a strategy, especially because you can only use it once.
But feel free to make your own rules, just don't bother us with them. |

even if the AI didnt have these bars, it would mean the other bars would be higher than ours, so that would mean the AI is 'cheating' against us to counter act us having a energy bar..confused?..you will be |

i use them but they dont seem to help much, if im going uphill the red bar doesnt move up at all, if im going downhill i dont need to use the energy bar as the red bar goes up anyway, if im on the flat im going hard and heart rate is so high the red bar doesnt move at all. |
