Another rainy day in Franco - Belge. Freire won the first stage, while Swift got the second one. Will one of them manage to get a second stage win or we will have a new winner?

Again we had 3 escapes: Sarkisov, Ruijgh and Clancy. This time Ultimate missed the breakaway but Ultra Adventure placed a rider there, while Clancy is for the second time in a breakaway in this race

Sarkisov won the first intermediate sprint of the day but the next 2 went to Ed Clancy

After 100% Me chased down the breakaway in the first half of the stage, it was Lego and Nokia Nike, who took the lead of the pack in the last kilometer of the stage. The last escape to be caught was Clancy with just 15 km left

Kenda and NOS made the first moves in the sprint, while on the other side of the road the AON Global and 100% Me trains were being made
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0008-16.jpg

The main sprinters followed the 100% Me and Aon Global trains. Freire, Ciolek and Vaitkus were there with Van Herden and Swift. But it doesn't look like they made the good move. NOS and Kenda are faster and the outsiders are there: Haddou, Martinez, Stroetinga, Vanthourenhout, Ulanowski, Baumann, Eichler, Forrero, Vanderaerden and Kennaugh were there
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0010-16.jpg

If a bad positions wasn't enough for the top sprinters, 2 of them went down while they were trying to get back in front. Ciolek was the first to go down, with Swift quickly following him. Some other riders were also involved in the crash but Ciolek and Swift were the only big names
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0014-13.jpg

Haddou again lead for an while but lost the lead before the last kilometer to Stroetinga. Eichler, Van Heerden, Lorenzetto, Forero and Vanderaerden were the only riders that still had a chance at the podium
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0015-13.jpg

Van Heerden and Lorenzetto were really fast in the final meters but Stroetinga managed to keep the lead while, Eichler, Forero and Vanderaerden were trying to keep it up with them

We had an another tight finish but it was too late for Van Heerden to beat Stroetinga and the Dutch takes the stage win for NOS. Ciolek and Swift did an amazing job to catch the pack in the last kilometers, which means that they still have a chance for the overall win here, with the Brit also keeping the yellow jersey
