Is that advice to yourself or a question?
Rabobank - try and win it with Flecha.
Katusha and Pozzatto or Cervelo with Hushovd or Hammond.
Anyone but QS. |

Paris-Roubaix 2010
It’s 7 degrees and it rains, the riders are preparing themselves for the most heavy cobble classic in the season.
The tension is high, the expectations are high. This will be a spectatcle. There were three top- favorites for this years edition: Pozzato, Boonen, and and Cancellara.

With 246km to go a few riders decided to attack, under them is Ian Stannard from team Sky.

But the first cobbeled section comes at 177km to go and the young Belgian rider Dehaes show he’s the best in the breakaway.
With 160km to go the break holds a +/- 2 minute lead.

With 139km to go the breakaway gets catched by the bunch with all the favorites in it.

With 132km to go Katusha decides to take the command over the pack.

But for the riders who don’t like cobbles Paris- Roubaix is a hell, also for the dutch rider Timmer

Then with 88 km to go Hayman of team Sky kisses the cobbles.

When we get deeper into the final 60km we notice a attack of Quick- Step rider Chavannel.

He’s one of the outsiders for today so Haussler decides to trie to close the gap.

Due to the fast pace of Haussler the group of the favorites gets smaller and smaller.

But Chavannel is a fighter and holds a 52 sec. lead.

The chasing group gets smaller and smaller and smaller.

With 33km to the velodrome Pozzato attacks and gets countered by Boonen. Flecha can’t react because he’s at the back of the group.

Boonen leaves his teammate Chavannel and his concurrent Pozzato behind and takes a good lead .

Then with 18km to the finish Flecha tries to get away from the group of the favorites.

But he gets countered by Chavannel&co!

With 10km to go there’s a goup with all the best riders of the day.

Then when entering the velodrome daredevil Boonen attacks. And he takes a small lead.

Boonen holds it to the line and wins! An easy win for the Belgian champion.

The sprint for the other places was won by Hushovd before Flecha and Cancellara.

And so it is Boonen was just the best today and nobody could match him. Flecha of team Sky gets a very beautifull 3rd place.
But the results say that Flecha is only 4rd.
