Young Riders and Race Days
ABridgeTooFar
Okay, so it has often been stated that you should not race your young riders more than 40 days because if you do, it may hurt their development. My question is this: at what age is it okay to increase their race programme above 40 days? I am assuming that it is based upon age and not the contract term of Young Rider.

Your thoughts?

I think, at least in PCM09, it isn't true. I've never heard about that. Too much racing days can't influence rider's limits set in the database. So you can race with them like you want to...

Are you certain? There have been several threads over the years regarding this issue. I just started a career as Trek/Livestrong and would hate to ruin the riders progression.

Certain not Smile But 95% certain Smile I've done about 4 5-seasons careers and I've developed the best riders in the world with maybe about 70 racing days per season... So I believe in my opinion Smile

That's good enough for me. If it worked for you then that is all the evidence I need. Thanks for the input

My guess is that, if it really worked that way, it would be somewhere in the DB - but it isn't. So I agree with Inferio.
