Wow, PCM 07 has got a review from the Times ( a major and very well respected English newspaper), and it doesn't come off too bad. Here's the review:
PRO CYCLING MANAGER: SEASON 2007
Ascaron/PC (£29.99)
3 Stars out of 5
In this cycling sim you must oversee the fortunes of your team, with jobs ranging from signing contracts to equipping and training the team. During the races, real-time tweaks are used to change tactics and strategies.
Once teams and events have been selected the clock is ticking. Cyclists must be trained up ready for the main event, when the game switches over to a race mode in which they come to life in the gritty, 3-D world. The race graphics and sound effects are perfectly functional, and while this is not a game to get the masses excited, it remains refreshingly different to tackle on PC
Not to bad, especially from the Times

Very respectable review, certainly because the huge number of (bigger and smaller) bugs in the game. I don't think they played a career though.... |

At least they've given it a chance, although I have to agree they blatantly only gave it a few hours before typing a few hundred words. Does anyone know if any of the main computer-games magazines published a review? I tried to sneak a peek at various mags in the station over the past 6 weeks, but so far nothing. Having said that, most of them have been "bagged" recently, so it was only 'gamesmaster' and 'EDGE' I remember checking. |

Ofcourse, testing a game takes too much time. I doubt if the reviewers from gamemagazines played/simulated a whole season. If I simulate a season (but spend time on scouting riders, contracting sponsors, selecting riders for each race, monitoring fitness, et cetera) it takes an awful lot of hours... No wonder the review is so positive (smart move from Cyanide... ) But you must admit, dispite the bugs, it's a nice game we all play ! |

PCM06 with the patches is without a doubt one of the games I have spent most hours on. |
