Just wondering, is there a column where the average of the stats for a rider a stored ? I can remember from previous editions its stored somewhere else and calculated ingame once in a while. |

Try checking the value_f_current_evaluation in DYN_cyclist (preferably in a save game).

Yep, already found that column, but i don't think that is the stat average. At least not if the old formula for the average is still used. For ex. Contador has a current_evaluation of 81,6 where the calculated average should be 78. |

similar question:
is there a field where cyclist's specialization (punchuer, sprinter etc..) is defined?
thanks |

It's a column for the potential, but it seems somewhat close to the average.
Anyway, there's no way then. It's not stored in the DB. |

fkIDtypeRider, but, if it works like last editions, changing it wont have much impact since most of the times PCM will recalculate it itself and put it back to what it was.
@CrueTrue, thanks thought that would be the case, not a big problem tough. |

What formula are you using? Maybe your formula is wrong.
This is how it works. The game calculates the best weighted sum. This value will be displayed and the rider type is changed accordingly.
If you want to calculate it yourself:
Weighted sums are the sum of the rider characs * typerider coefficient (STA_type_rider).

As far as im aware, the formula for the AVG stat displayed in game is Endurance + Resistence + Recuperation + (Best two stats of Mountain/Hill/Cobble/Sprint/TT) / 5 = the average. This has been the formula for at least the last three pcm editions. The thing you're talking about is not the way the AVG stat is calculated, im quit sure about that. But in any case that would be easy to test.
[edit] just checked a couple, seems that indeed the old formula isn't used anymore.

As far as I know the "old formula" is crap. At least in PCM08 and PCM09 the factors in STA_type_rider is used for the calculation.
I asked an employee of cyanide about this formula, and the formula I posted is copied from his answer, so it better should be correct. |

This is the anwser I've got from Eyolfur.
This is indeed a weighted average. This is the best value of the rider in the 4 main rider types (tour specialist, sprinter, cobblemna and hilly classics). Each rider type gives a special coefficient to each note.
It gives a deeper insight on the rider level, since it is based on a combination of good notes, instead of a basic average (a rider with high notes in say acceleration + cobble + recovery could have a good average with the ancient system, but he was in fact a bad rider).

"where the calculated average should be 78."
I thought that you meant the average calculated by the game - not your own calculation.
Did you try checking whether the current_evaluation matches the in-game calculated average? |
