That's horrible. Wish him all the best for his future.

Can understand he retires after that, hopefully he'll get a chance for a farewell race in the distant future.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

This is a pure texan chainsaw massacre. I'm starting to think we should be glad Giro didn't claim another life yesterday |

Today's break:
Chalapud (Colombia)
Haas (Garmin)
Thurau (Europcar)
Boem (Bardiani)
Anacona (Lampre).
Thurau best in the GC at 6'45, so if too many sprinters suffered from the crash and rather want to recover, this could be a good chance.
Thurau would certainly make his dad proud and already equal him in Giro mass start stage wins. Either way, he's shaping up to be a good rider.

Don't know why but I always associate Giro with rainy weather . I swear it rains every fucking day on this race |

Interesting fact: Only one Brit and only one Norwegian are riding this Giro. Both of them are in Sky.

Probably not, I saw some BMC riders up to the front briefly.

This will be heartbreaking for the break, I guess. Three climbers in there won't help either against such a fast peloton.

You do realize that even riders from the front crashed yesterday, don't you?

I do, that "smartness" reference was to the fact that he used this chance to gain precious time instead of playing stupid Cancellara like stop the race now.

Wow so smart. The crash occured at 15th place in the peloton. Every favourite was down but Evans. It's pure luck he made it through unscathed.
I'd rather the race was decided during real battle not freak accidents and crashes.

Cancellara? You can't be talking about the Arenberg stage in the Tour
