My college curriculum(for in a couple years) involves a massive 3 lectures per semester, each 90 minutes. The rest is 2 lab days that can be taken at any time. It's almost too easy.

+ individual work that seems to get put of until the last moment and delay studing for exams

I believe it should be square, not sure the size, it's generally displayed in an even smaller size than our 100x100 avatars on this forum.

Thats the beauty of masters level, no lectures at 8 in the morning. I'm guessing you are at bachelor level? I had a lot of lectures my first 2 years, 3rd year was a little easier. In masters I have a lot of individual work, even some professors don't put a big effort into giving lectures or showing up on time.
4th semester Bachelor Biological Sciences that was. Not that the 5th one now will be better :
At least there's nothing to do for the lectures besides the exam, but a report of about 5 pages per two lab days.
Still looks like holidays to me, compared to actual work.
If I were to receive 10€ per hour, I would not mind that schedule at all
If I were to receive 10€ per hour as you say, I would not mind actually working more and visiting Daily less instead.
Germany is another universe in payments. You get more money there for sweeping up the pavements than for qualified work in Czech republic...
