EMERALD RACE
Emerald – Claremont – 218km
Once again its a four man break that has proven successful in getting clear of the peleton and has already built up a substantial lead of over seven minutes. Matthew Lloyd/Lampre ISD was the instigator and was soon followed by Losada/Katusha, Salerno/Liquigas and Lietaer/Topsport Vlaanderen
The four are still setting a nice steady pace together
Lotto Belisol and Acqua & Sapone are now doing the chasing
The four are beginning to tire after such a long time at the front of the race
As the pack gets closer and closer Salerno/Liquigas decides to give it one last go
O'Grady/Orica GreenEdge and Kuschymski/Katusha are trying to catch the pack unawares and sneak off the front
They were both caught within a kilometre but now Durbridge/Orica GreenEdge gives it a go, GreenEdge must want this win
He was hauled back just before the red kite and now the sprinters teams come to the fore with Acqua & Sapone setting it up for the finish
And Ginanni finishes it off in style after all there herd work

The performance's were not the greatest today from the guys but i suppose you could put that down to the extremely hot temperatures they were riding in |
