26th of January - morning
I have to admit that TdU went very well for us. even Joost wasn´t injured in that horrible fall in last stage. But now I have to return to my office and make rest of meetings with my riders. Also I have to look for our scout reports and prepare some data for Erik. So in next few days only behind the desk work. I hope that erik will send me list fo my races soon...
Sabino López Santos
26th of January - Afternoon
Sabino is last of our signed U-23 guys, I wanted to speak with him today as soon as possible because I were really worried about him. He is only 20 and not bad but I am afraid that his lack of training morale is something inexcusable. I gave him lot of advices and I hope that he will take anything to his heart. Otherwise he will be not here too long...

Last year achievements: 3rd overall Ronde de l´Isard
this year expectations: training - his flat ability is more disability than ability.... |

if he's a climber he doesn't need a big flat ability

if he's a real talent he should become way better. Also he could be a climber not a stage racer, going just for stage wins in the high mountain stages.
But looking at his TT stats, there are the same as the mountain ones, but he really sucks on hills.

He's also someone who follows wheels instead of attacking. He's Ivan Basso, basically
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

wait Basso isn't attacking? maybe except when he isn't visiting Fuentes.
Also he could a Cadel for Le Tour, the same way.

we will see how good he will become but I don´t expect much (74% training)
27th of January - 14:00
Paul Martens

Only german rider in our team was here today. He weill be this year superdomestique for Gesink during Ardennes. When I told him this, he just answered: "I thought so." and left. Weird guy...

Last year achievements:
7th German RR Championship
This year expectations:1 stage win or one small classic podium
Bauke Mollema

27th of January - late evening
Another young gun was here this evening - Bauke Mollema. To my surprise he made great improvement last year and I were ready to show him my appreciations for that. He was quite stunned when I told him that he should be our leader during Volta a Catalunya and Dauphine Libere. Maybe I would be able to give him lieutenant role during Tour de France just behind Denis Menchov. he accepted very gladly and I felt that next year he will be our leader during Giro or Vuelta....

Last year successes:
3rd ocerall Volta a Burgos
7th GP Ouest France - Plouay
8th Giro di Lombardia
This year expecations: Win Dauphine Libere, Podium Volta a Catalunya. 3 stage wins

Kai Reus

28th of January - 13:00 official press conference of Rabobank team, Eindhoven
"And I would like to announce our team Giro captain - Kai Reus. He will also be at Vuelta as helper another great Dutch rider - Robert Gesink. We believe that he will represent our team in Italy in very good way and that he will bring back with success. Any questions?"
"Don´t you think that any older guy would be much better suited for this job?"
"No. We know that Kai is great talent and we fully trust him."
"But what about Bauke Mollema? Wouldn´t he be able to overcome Dolomites better than Reus?
"We have other plans with Bauke and Giro is not this year in those plans. I am deeply sorry but I have to leave now. Our press speaker will give you answers for rest of your questions..."

last year successes:7th overall Circuit Sarthe
this year expectations: Top 20 Giro
Tom Stamsnijder

28th of January - evening.
Meeting with Tom is over and know I wonder if I wasn´t mistaken somehow. I didn´t expect that we would enter my office and ask me if I would be so kind and send him to RV as water carrier. I agreed but I still wonder..... Doesn´t matter....

Last year successes: none
This year expectations: nothing |

Laurens Ten Dam

29th of January - 14:00
I met Laurens at lunch. We had been talking for a while and after some time He asked me to send him to Vuelta this year. I didn´t see any problem in it so I agreed. Very short meeting. Also he will be sent to Catalunya or Giro as a helper.

Paris - Nice 2010 Presentation
31th of January - conference room of Team Rabobank
"Welcome to presentation of this year Paris- Nice. Normally it would be Erik who would describe you everything but he had to leave to France already to prepare everything for tomorrow race. However In Paris-Nice he will be your manager and we know that he will elad you to victory.
maybe someone of you didn´heard it yet so I will announce it again. Leader in Paris-Nice 2010 will be Denis Menchov. He won this great race last year already and he wants to repet this success again..."
Race will start in Evry on 8th of March with short time-trial. There will be only minimal difference so don´t be worried if something will go bad.

Second stage is the only flat stage so present sprinters should be ready on this day.

3rd stage is the first of hill\ stages - this one will propably go to punchers with good sprint. Our goal will be minimize possible time loss for Denis

4th stage to Privas will be full of attacks. our goal will be prepare ourselves for last hill and then attack. Denis shall be able to make it then

5th stage is Queen stage of this year Paris- Nice. On this day Everything will have to work perfectly. it is day of crossing Mont Ventoux! Win will go propably to any good downhiller but We hope that we will win a lot oof time in this stage

6th stage is another hilly one. After Mont Ventoux we expects some lighter break will win this stage....

7th stage is the longest one and last hill to Mandelieu Gd Duc will be battle about many seconds.

8th stage is traditional Col d´Eze - This year it will be 12km long mountain Time Trial. This is stage where we expect Menchov will be winner. To those who will participate here good luck. To others - Maybe next year...

" This will be all about presenattion. If you will have any questions. Ask Denis and he will help you. Meeting is over. "
