Praying for a Remco downfall tomorrow although it feels bad, I just don't want Kennett to lose green

Excellent TT by Leknessund! Second is a good result in this field.
He has a nice gap to many of the riders who are stronger climbers than him. But will it be enough?
And can he win 22 seconds on Remco?
All the ingredients for a thrilling finale are there.

Congrats to alex for two nice stage wins. I obviously won't cheer for Remco in rhe final stage wirh Ranaweera in a good position in front of all the equal and stronger climbers and only (?) 2 minutes down on him. This could be a huge race for us, so hopefully the expectations won't be crushed in the final stage as we only have scored a single point so far.

Would have been really interesting to see what would happen if Skjelmose hadn't randomly lost time yesterday. At this point it's about depth. Would like Skjelmose to stay in top 10 and Aranburu to get top 20. A first showcase for how MM plays with these guys tomorrow I guess.

Really nice ride by Cabrera, definitely a few stage points we weren't expecting. The value of this race to us was always going to depend on what Yates could do tomorrow. I would feel pretty good about his position if he hadn't thrown away 55 seconds yesterday.
I wonder on a single decisive stage like this with a decent, but not crazy amount of climbing, if Medium Mountain becomes very important as much of the race might be ridden at a higher tempo. If that is the case a guy like Almeida doesn't have any advantage over Remco.
Feel like this is the race Remco announces himself as top rider. Congrats to Alex and thanks Imladrik for the reports.

We need to do something on the final stage to take anything from this race.

Terrible day by Herregodts, solid day by Plapp. Plapp still looks good for the podium but the overall victory is growing more and more unlikely with both evenepoel and leknessund going from strong day to strong day.
Herregodts missed the chance for a good points classification finish with his offday. Now id really like to see him in the break on the mountain day to possibly climb into the KoM points. Still a big "what could have been" question as without the flat split, he would sit really well in gc even with this bad tt and then he likely could have gotten a nice gc out of it. Now that appears much more unlikely.
Adria also sits in a fine gc position for now. But i reckon he drops a bit more on the last day as the gaps behind are fairly small.
Finally, we still lead the teams classification. The most crucial day is still coming up but maybe there is a chance?

IF only Wellens wouldn`t have sit up before...Guerreiro was definitely not the ideal choice of GC leadership here with the ITT. Wellens did decently well here actually and with the mountain remaining could have done well.
Anyway. A good stage performance hopefully then. |

And last stage:
It was such an obvious opportunity for both Wellens or Guerreiro to join the break...unfortunately none of them did.
This plus Wellens again underperforming here heavily being 2min behind the GC group is not ideal.
Add Guerreiro totally ignoring it all here being 17 min down this is one of the worst ever races in the team`s history...
Never good when GC riders swap leadership during a race for no reason and both not really care on important stages.
So in the end just a race to forget and hopefully not what is to be expected all season.
Congrats to Gazelle for a big win here and Rabobank for a strong Evenepoel performance. Good showing by him.
Thanks for all the reports, which had been a nice read despite my team failing. |

Chumil getting in the break and up the GC kinda gives us a not terrible output for this race. We got points out of solid depth, but both leaders Schlegel and Ackermann were bad here. I'm not confident in what I'll see from them this year if they can't do much in this rather weak field.
Thanks for the quality reports, I'm sure it was a very fun race for a lot of people.

Ah yes, this was our plan all along! Lose time on a silly stage and strike here!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Nice to see Barguil being alive and well. Kevin was always gong to be a gamble due to the nature of his stats. Kennett holds onto green and Remco's downfall was good enough to not grab stage points.
Congrats to DD on a nice win for Leknessund and still congrats to Alex on a great race for Remco regardless!
Lastly, thank you for the swift and great reports!

Thanks, guys.
Real shame Remco couldn't hang on there and imploded rather spectacularly. But he still managed to hang on to second in GC. That and two stage wins make this a pretty terrific race for us.
Congrats, DD!

Exciting racing.
Unfortunately I missed out on this band as my third choice, else McNulty would probably have been here. Looking at the startlist and how things went he for sure would've been a contender for the victory. |

Thanks for the reports, was a very enjoyable race for me.
I think we came close to expectations here. I had hopes of doing better but third in gc with two more in the top 25 is very solid. Winning the teams comp is something we very rarely if ever achieved and that compensates for a bad Herregodts TT or getting beat by Evenepoel by a tiny margin. almost every team was unfortunate in some split or similar and getting that top3 is good.
Congrats to dd and alex for great races. Not a big surprise to see either of them on the podium as i pointed them both out before the race

Nice to see Balmer salvaging a little something from this stinker of a race for us. Though with the squad we sent here, I don't think we were ever in with a shot to do anything special.
Thanks Imladrik for the reporting and congrats to DD on taking out the win!
