I always find it interesting seeing the support for the NHL from non hardcore NHL fans...

Aparently the Atlanta Thrashers are supposed to have abig announcement tommorow. And is it just coincedince that Gary Betman the leagues Comish is also going to be there that day, not make it seem like the thrashers days in atlanta are numbered. I also heard from many non realiable sources that they might move to winnipegmy town but the fact that I heard it from many non realiable sources makes me think. Is it true? It might be have to wait and see until tommorow. But maybe those good old days of going back to the arena aren't over but just begining once again. Anyone else with news towards this please share. |

Well I think the Canucks found Quick's weakness. I hate to brag as come postseason time I get very supersticious about things like bragging about wins but it was a great win. Unfortunately O'brein fought Simmonds who happens to be a black player in the NHL ( a rarity) so I had to rep him but atleast it wasn't one sided.

I know it might not affect many on this forum but the Chicago Blackhawks wrapped up the NHL seson by winning "The Mug", "The Grail' or the Stanley Cup tonight. They beat the Flyers in Game 6.

Definately not Chi-Town.
Detroit are fairly underrated I'd say with the addition of Modano, to an already good team, he could beleive it or not be the guy that puts them over the edge.
If Kovalchuk signs for any team in the west other than Edmonton they should be in the mix.
Honestly Colorado, could get up there too. Very Young team certain to improve.
Dallas will not get any better even with the new goalies. But James Neal  will have a good season.
Don't expect the Habs to get anywhere near as far as last year, it was alreasy lucky but trading the wrong goalie away, will cause serious consiquences.
Pittsburgh I hate to say it. They've now got the depth with 5 very strong defencemen.
The Canucks have one of their best teams of all time I would say. ( But I don't wanna jynx anything so thats as far as I'm going with that)
The Caps will make it to the East Finals and lose to 'X' team.
This is the toughest year in a while to pick one favourite like the last years, but I think the Pens will win even though I hate to say it. They have the depth. |

I have a feeling the caps will go far this year. I am huge fan of the Ottawa Senators(my fav team) however with just one aqusition this season I don't think they will even make the playoffs. they need a consistent goalie....Niemi???? They would be a dream come true. And as always the Leafs will suck |

I'm not so sure about the Leafs sucking ( I hate to say) . Look at the potential line-up. They have lost of very good defensemen, like Phanuef, Francois Beauchemin, Kaberle, Kommie, Schenn and possibly Danny, Richmond or Jeff Finger. Then look at their Forwards, Bozak ( needs to prove he's NHL ready but should turn out great if he plays this year, unfortunately) Kessel, Kulemin, Sjostrom, and Versteeg. Then in net they've got Giggy, and Gustavsson. So I think if they perform well, making the playoffs isn't such a bad goal.
But lets all hope they don't make the playoffs. |
