A perfect way to finish off a great race for us! I was initially happy enough with Phinney marking Kritskiy, so it was great to see him finish so strongly and even snatching the win on the line.
2/2 GC wins for Phinney in Grieg colors so far, so let's hope he can keep that up in the TdF... It will be tough, but at least a very good test here in Tour de Suisse. The team looked good around him as well.
Thanks for the congrats guys. I'm very interested to see how far up he can take us indeed, cio! The cobbles went better than expected and we have managed to get more points out of most other races than expected also, so if he can keep this up in the Tour, it could be fun to follow.
Reading we contributed to the chase early made me hopeful of a good daily form for either him or Tvetcov, and that must have been the case. Having Vangstad in 8th place here could very well be the lucky break we need to feel safe from relegation post Tour, where our scoring opportunities will be few and far between. At the very least this helps a lot!
Tvetcov in 12th is also a great result. Pre-race I hoped for a top 15, and seeing him do just that is nice.
Dominant GC win by Phinney. Congratulations, tastasol! Kind of difficult to imagine him not winning the Tour as well, assuming he manages to be consistent in the mountains, though, that should be a much closer race compared to this.
Thank you for your efforts with the reports, Marcovdw!
Well done to Phinney and this dominant win. Had to be expected though. Nice to see that the 3 biggest threats in the end also ended behind him with Cattaneo having this podium he needed and Keizer being the weakest of those 4 uphill closely missing.
The TT had big impact here which helped Haig, Brändle, Vangstad, Goos. Nice results there for some while Martin and luckily also Keinath were rewarded with the riding today, which makes it a nice race for me as well as he moves up to 10th keeping the points coming.
Keinath surely was a big price to pay before the season but he gives me exactly what I was hoping for. Depth in races where Olivier mainly won`t compete due to TT kilometers and consistent riding in general.
Koep in 54th is a nice result for him as well as he rarely enters the top75.
All in all a decent Tour de Suisse for us. 15, 16, 27, 29, 30 in GC is nice and it's cool to see Geoghegan Hart do so well already, winning the YC in the process. Plus Formolo's fireworks in the last stage and resulting 2nd in KoM.
I have no idea what it is about this race but it keeps being better than the expectations. Vosekalns with a fantastic race and also Sakalous attempts are much appreciated. Thanks for the reports and congrats to those on the podium!
That was a weird race - with AirFrance being completely invisible. That was somewhat expected before-hand, but seeing how the race played out, everyone seemed to have a chance of animating the race. Just didn't take it.
