Next KoM lead and it's this lovely Dutchie Good news! Too bad they got caught once again. But keep on trying. That report for the final mountain sprint made me really nervous. Great stuff from VdH to maintain his leading position. It's at least some points gained, on which you never can count on. Doesn't make up for our horrible month, but it's good nevertheless.

Some riders are being dropped in the back, although neither Tenorio or Nerz are among those. A good sign for both riders for the upcoming mountain stages
not really

that was a bad day indeed...such a great preperation and then this...well at least you can count on your mountain squad, winning the Gc is all that counts anyway right?

Wow, that is quite something Polivoda and Vanderbiest pulled off! It's not the stage 21 sprint win I have been dreaming about, but in a rather terrible season, this is a good highlight.

Spilak sprinting for 11th is good I guess, as those performances will help scoring a high pts standing, but a bit weird to waste energy like that on the flats instead of going berserk in the Hills. Already 2 wasted opportunities.

No crash and no problems, that is the most important on stages like these

Another somewhat disappointing TT from Keinath, and it seems it was a false hope that we would be trying for breakaways.
Great sprint there for Wippert though to take 6th. On Van Stayen's wheel, with great speed, it could have been even better if not for Evonik's train issues.

Cool to see Wippert in the mix at a GT sprint!
I disagree with the reporter though - it's always smart to join breakaways even with no KoM points up for grabs! Good to show our colours here.We will hopefully continue like that. Our only chance for show lucky stage win here.

Good win for Swift again, and once again no crashes. We are quite happy with that. Now we just need to survive the coming hills

Van Stayen actually sprints to a podium
Perhaps this isnt going to be a 0-pointer after all.

Well, time will flow and the chances open up. I bet you come out with a stage win here. And almost certainly a Top 5 KOM

We'll see. For all i know it will be Stoltz to enter mountain breaks while Koch cruises towards a top 50 GC result without any break appearances

Koch top 50? Wasn't he one of the prerace favorites?

A favourite for 21th place with an honorable mention in the preview . And knockout clearly didn't see Koch's 36th place in the TT despite having something in the 60's in TT

Swift winning again as expected, after messing up in the previous sprint. Also cool to see Bystrøm give it a go and almost succeeding. If he decides to do the same on the hilly stages, surely a stage win can't be far off for Spotify.
Happy that Guldhammer again made it through safe. Now it's all about making the hilly stage count for something good, before we hit the mountains and the real struggle starts.
Thank you for your consistent reporting, Aquarius97! |

Of course he was one of the prerace favourites looking to achieve our TDF win goal for once. However he is only 75th in GC being nearly 6 minutes behind already. Only realistic explanation is that he is injured which makes everything better than top 50 a crapshot.
And i hope you're not implicating that 36th in a TT is an overperformance? He is the second best TTist in a PT team. Thats gotta count for sth

Hm. Not ideal, but still no off-day for Demare so far. CongratzzZZzzZz Aegon.
It was the right decision to pass Reimer early, but it also was too early to keep a high speed all the way to the line. Porsev staying ahead for the whole last kilometre shouldn't really happen, but it can't work every day.
Following Swift's wheel instead of the Spotify train wouldn't really have helped, looking at how little space there was between the riders and how close the sprint still was in the end.
Now for one of the most exciting stages of the race for us, and a vital one for green. I hope we get a rider in the break, and protect Demare and also Arndt (if there's a mo-hill-ratio involved). The large amount of downhill kilometres might spell breakaway win though.

Bystrom looking strong, to bad it did not work this time but hey lets try again.
So Kvist makes an almost perfect leadout for Reimer, oh how nice it would been if it was Ahlstrand instead... |

Congrats roturn and fj!
