Come on. For once I would have liked to stay in the first group.
Yesterday already all but Keizer were dropped for some reason. Today all dropped then.
At least more or less all later riders were hit. That said Sagan...most overperformance in PT this season.
I like his team though, so it`s nice actually.
But now I really need a podium in the ITT (against Phinney and Gesink I guess) and then a 9th in GC taking enough time on Sagan, Sella, Suaza, Keinath. |

What the... Brutal race, i really enjoy following (guess it's good to be a neutral viewer though). Or just be Roman and you are fine, too
Good to see Mohs taking this one. Dominanting win after this moment, where him and Sagan looked in troubles.

Scared like shit when Sella and Monsalve was dropped, luckily Keizer was aswell. I would've hoped Sella could stay with the front group, he would've needed the time before the ITT

Thanks god, thanks Selwink! Seeing Mohs launching again so early I was sure he hit the wall once more. I' m happy it didn' t happend!
Regarding to PT battle, while I gain some points on Good Energy, massive point haul for Becherovka due to constantly overpermorming Sagan is getting scary.

Good attempt by Vasyliv and securing 2nd in the KoM is nice.

Well I am hoping Copp and Canc are not too knackered to deliver a half decent chrono performance too - lets beat Keizer Soze
As most GC guys got dropped not a problem to have my reasonably high up guys dropped - Morobito will finish so KoM is really nice to add to stage results and great GC this is proving a great stage race for SRB.
Sagan is just sick here amazing stuff.

Well, seriously Sagan should really finish better than only 10th in a stage like this with his final kick.
More seriously it is getting better and better for me here. Sagan even has a chance to finish in top 10 overall now. Just an amazing race.
Big thanks to Selwink once again! Congrats to beagle this time too!

Very detailed reports. Brilliant effort Selwink.
Another bucketload of random hazards. It's hard to see this not influence the outcome of the whole race for some of us.

Weird how the wind affected none of the Top 7 but most of those afterwards. Without checking, I think Suaza is better in time trials than Sagan so a Top 10 is still possible.

Yes! Holding onto 3rd place by 1 second, and only 17 seconds ahead of 5th. Really great time trial ride by Schleck - I guess you didn't spot that danger Selwink?
Pity that Suaza lost out on 10th to Keinath, but good that Shikai took 22nd and Claerebout 28th. It was a worst case scenario race for me in terms of how Phinney did, but we've certainly done our best to limit the damage.

Fair enough that Stake Laengen couldn't follow the first peloton on stage 7 due to the point SN noted, but it could have been a sensational GC from him if he had managed to hang on
Powerful performance by Phinney all the race through, really. It should be very interesting to see how this race has affected the overall ranking, as Vesuvio didn't really slow down with Schleck's great GC!
And thanks a lot for your fast reporting for the race, Selwink. I've truly enjoyed it. |

Nice to see Velits got that 2nd place, big result here for him. Sagan did a little bit worse than I expected but he still had an amazing race. And Novak did really well too. I have to be really happy with 2nd, 12th and 23rd place in the final GC. In addition to that my guys achieved two stage wins, they were two times 2nd in a stage, they got another few top 10 stage results, Sagan was 2nd overall in youth and sprint competition. And my team even won the team competition. Just an amazing Tour of Germany for me. Can't wait to see PT rankings!
And congrats to Wikipedia and Vesuvio. They had a great race too. And once again big thanks to Selwink, the pace of reports was just amazing.

Interesting race this was. A very pleasant one for us, in the end, never suspected Fothen could finish so high in the GC.
Loved the detail and quality of the reports, Selwink, thanks for everything.
Congratulations to Wikipedia as well.

I indeed missed that. Would only have noticed it if he had actually dropped even further

Thanks Selwin, top on the quality and quantity. Not a great TT for us but a fair enough GC position in the end.

Good chrono there from the C + C duo - I expected Phinney to rubber stamp a comfortable GC win. But we power on towards a comfortable top 10 team standings I hope. KoM two Top twenties and a really solid all round race what I hoped. ING too good on the team chrono and Phinney too good on stage race ITT.
The TT was a massive let down for Sella as you would expect - VW though I think will hold off Rothaus for now.
Vesuvio and Becherovka big winners here for me though, things could have gone either way for their teams but both managers can feel pretty smug right now
